Chinaberries and Beyond provides a very personal account of Patricia L. Bostic’s childhood as one of eight children in a small North Carolina town during the 40s and 50s. She adeptly allows the reader insight into family and educational relationships, as well as the prevailing social issues of the time period that laid a foundation and influenced her into adulthood.
